Mr.Martin Amidu, the immediate past Special Prosecutor has boldly dismissed claims made by Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Hon. Kennedy Agyepong, for going to Germany to receive medical treatment.
Mr. Amidu was of the view that, the claims made by the MP were just to assassinate his character and for that matter, he is not surprised. He said the MP is fond of peddling lies and has challenged him to produce documents.
He said;
I am not surprised that the Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong would “stoop that low” because of his history of “spewing lies at any person of integrity who tries to fight corruption”.
“I am not surprised that he would stoop that low to make any allegation without any foundation in fact or in truth. I have never been to Germany on any occasion let alone for a medical checkup. I don’t know any German hospital or any German clinic and therefore his allegations are false,”
In an interview with Citi FM, Mr. Amidu has challenged the MP to produce documents that show that he, Martin Amidu has traveled to Germany to seek medical treatment. He denied the allegation of having travelled to Germany.
Mr. Martin Amidu’s resignation has hit both sides of the political divide.
The reasons behind his resignation were subjected to the allegation of political interference.
